AHIMA-Approved CDI Trainer Workshop

Becoming an AHIMA-Approved Clinical Documentation Integrity (CDI) Trainer can help you take your CDI career to the next level. Learn how to train others using CDI best practice standards. There is no travel required with the purchase of this digitally delivered, on demand course. This program provides a review of CDI fundamentals, clinical validation and treatment plans, coding concepts, metrics and statistics, policies and procedures, effective communication, leadership, and adult learning principles. In the final phase of this program, candidates must complete and submit a recorded teaching demonstration and pass an end of course exam to obtain the AHIMA-Approved CDI Trainer designation.

CDI Trainer Prerequisites

• AHIMA membership
• 5+ of CDI work experience
• Hold the CDIP credential or obtain recognition as an International Clinical
      Documentation Integrity (CDI) Specialist
• Satisfy at least one of the following:
        o Published at least one article in a public venue, such as the Journal
           of AHIMA,
           an AHIMA blog or newsletter, or other reputable publication 
        o Presented at the local, state, or national level on the specific topic
        o Trained a team or group of individuals as part of their employment
